Santa Lucia Riverwalk (Paseo Santa Lucia)

Inspirado en el Riverwalk de San Antonio Texas, se construyó en el oriente de la ciudad de Monterrey un paseo peatonal caracterizado por la inclusión de un canal o río artificial. El canal fue construido en el Ojo de Agua de Santa Lucía, donde fue fundada por tercera y definitivamente la ciudad de Monterrey. El canal está adornado por 24 fuentes y tiene una longitud de 2.5 km; se alimenta de forma parcial por el ojo de agua que le da nombre y cuyas aguas fluyen de forma subterránea. A lo largo del canal se ha construido un paseo peatonal, con un carril para bicicletas, áreas verdes; juegos infantiles y una serie de esculturas de artistas mexicanos. El canal solo es transitado por las embarcaciones que llevan a los visitantes de paseo por el primer cuadro de la ciudad; durante el trayecto el guía narra anécdotas y episodios de la historia de Monterrey. Ocasionalmente, y solo en contadas situaciones, el canal se aprovecha para dar realice a eventos como el triatlón de la ciudad u otros tipo de competiciones y es permitido el nado de atletas en él. De otra forma está prohibido la inmersión en él.

C’est un canal artificiel navigable avec 2 voies piétonnes de part et d’autre de la rivière. Ce canal inauguré en septembre 2007 est tellement sublime qu’il apparait dans le classement des 13 merveilles mexicaines crées par l’homme. Un canal artificiel au milieu du désert cela parait un peu ridicule quand on sait que les paysans des alentours peuvent parfois manquer d'eau durant la saison sèche, étant donné le climat désertique.

Recomiendo ir en temporada de diciembre ya que es el mes del famoso festival "Luztopia" que se festeja al rededor de este canal y parque fundidora. Los precios para el recorrido por el canal son muy accesibles y no hay nada como visitarlo de noche aunque también en el día la vista es muy espectacular. Vale bastante la pena, además de que la platica durante el recorrido es bastante interesante.

Se inauguró en el año de 2007, cuando era presidente Felipe Calderón. El paseo tiene su nacimiento en el sitio donde se fundó la ciudad de Monterrey en 1596: el ojo de agua Santa Lucía. Va de la macroplaza (el "zócalo" de la ciudad) al Parque Fundidora. Tiene 2.5 kilómetros de largo y una profundidad de 1.20 metros. En su recorrido se pueden ver diez puentes peatonales y 22 fuentes, la más bonita es la "Fuente de las Olas", que se ubica dentro de un lago artificial. Por las noches se ilumina de colores y es un paseo muy relajante dentro de una de las ciudades con más movimiento de México.
