El Viajero
Quiet, cheap, large and comfortable
This hotel is located in the outskirts of Granada, where you can park for sure. It has a parking lot for clients and there is a lot of free space around, since much of the streets there belong to an industrial zone, empty from the end of the afternoon onwards.
It is only three kilometers away from the urban center, next to the neighborhood of Chana and parallel to the highway of the coast. But to make sure you do not get lost, the best is, when you come from the west, to take the first detour on the right after passing the airport. And keep going straight until you end up in the Fatinamar industrial zone, the hotel is on the main way.
In order to load and unload the car there is a traffic branch in front of the hotel. There is also a very big and busy restaurant on the opposite side. On the left side of the hotel you can access the clients' parking.
The service is fast and the procedure minimal, they do not detain you like in other places, you get your magnetic card fast.
If you follow this corridor you go down to the cafeteria. It is large and has a direct access to the gardens and the swimming-pool. The prices of the cafeteria are worth taking into account, the only thing I don't like is that the internet access works with coins and you don't know in advance how much you can spend. To give an example, a coffee costs 1.10€ and a complete toast 0.90€, like anywhere else basically.
In the other part of the corridor, next to the main entrance to the hotel, of three superior stars, there is a way down to the breakfast buffet room. I think I remember there were the conference rooms and the lift there.
The bedroom looks completely new. The hotel looks recently inaugurated, there is nothing looking old. On the right side there is the bathroom, complete of course. Then you find a twin-room with two individual beds put together, a televisor, the usual furniture, the mini-fridge and a balcony on the courtyard of the building. Since the weather was nice, we did not really care about the air conditioning the hotel is obviously equipped with. An interesting fact is that the floor of the bedroom was made of "pergola", some kind of platform on which a lighted cigarette can fall without consequences. We could not hear any noise from the inside. We had some reservations in the beginning for being next to the airport but it is quite far away and the area is quiet.
We did not go to the restaurant because we went to Granada during the day, but every time we made use of the room service we were surprised about how fast, professional and good it was. I should mention that there was a wedding going on at the same time, the celebration took place just next to the swimming-pool. This is to show that it is not expensive, the bride would have chosen another place otherwise. So I will finish talking about the prices of this stunning hotel.
We paid 40€ a night, which is a real bargain if you consider that hotels in the center of lower category, lower quality and less space cost twice as much. I recommend this hotel because it has space, it is quiet, cheap, and comfortable.
