A busy place
The Camarote Madrid, generally known as the Madrid, is one of the busiest bars in the Cid neighbourhood. This is a brewery and tapas bar, with a small dining area at the back of the room, with capacity for just 2 or 3 tables. There's a circular bar in the centre of the room. Javi, the owner, is a household name in the city of Leon, and is a great fan of bullfighting, so of course the whole place is decorated with bullfighting motifs: posters, photos of famous bullfighters, clothes, etc. As usual in Leon, you'll get a free tapa with a drink. In this bar, it's usually chips or garlic soup in winter (although they have paella at the weekends), and in summer a seasonal salad or gazpacho.
They also serve bigger portions for sharing, and here you won't find many of the most common Leonese dishes. Instead, the food is more Andalucian: Iberian ham, and lots of different varieties of seafood.
