Calle Mayor of Palencia
Calle Mayor is the main road in Palencia and is therefore the busiest. It measures approximately 1 km in length between the Plaza de León and Isabel II Hall Park. It is pedestrianised and hosts the major retailers and financial institutions of the city, plus some historic buildings such as the Casa del Junco, the College Villandrando , the Post Office building, Casino, or the Augustinian convent. One side of the street is made up of frame buildings. Along the walk you will also find some urban sculptures, such as "la Gorda", the "rope girl", or "chestnut".
