Trip back in time
Le Cafe de la Paix is in Opera Square, corner of the Boulevard of the Capucins. It is a legendary cafe where many opera and film stars used to come in the 50s. Now is still a great coffee "brasserie" which features a typical nineteenth-century Paris. For a trip back in time, I would recommend a visit. Outside, as is the case in many restaurants in the neighborhood, is its assortment of seafood, choose before entering. It is an expensive place, half are Parisians having a business lunch, and half are tourists, attracted by the reputation of the place. Starters include onion soup ($ 16), foie gras (24 euros), smoked salmon (22 euros), for second there seared scallops (31 euros), whole fish (37 euros) and meats are also around 30 euros per dish.
