Torre Velha da Cadeia is part of a walled fortress of the villa from the 14th century as the Tower of San Paulo (Sao Paulo) .They were constructed by King D. Manuel. The towers are regular square plans divided into 3 floors with big windows, and all towers end with small pyramid-shaped figures. With the restoration of the public walking area, in the late 19th century was it was opened to a broken arch door downstairs, thus having lowered the internal floor level.
