Longtemps, je me suis couche de bonne heure, ... This first sentence of the Search for Lost Time, by Marcel Proust, is, I think, so famous for the French scholars as the first line of Don Quixote for Spanish. For those who have read or heard of Proust know that Cabourg was one of his favorite residences: For several years in a row he came to spend the summer (1910 if I remember correctly) and improve his poor health. The city still preserves the buildings of the period, which give a touch of bourgeois city where high society Parisians come to spend the summer in search of healthy air of the Atlantic.
