Cabo Mayor

This great headland is located near Santander, in the town of Cueto, and is formed by limestones of the Cretaceous period. It's amazing to see how the rock has evolved over the millenia. The lighthouse of Cabo Mayor, opened in 1839, offers stunning views of the sea and the Cantabrian coast. It's a strategic location, and you can see several monuments and the remains of the Spanish civil war, like a bunker. But the best views are definitely of the sea.
