Ca la Ami teahouse and restaurant is a piece of the Thousand and One Nights in Alcoy. A place where you can dine but which holds many surprises. The decor is modest, if there aren´t many people you can sit in the tent. The cuisine is Syrian but it is run by locals. The menu is varied and perfect for those who want to escape from the traditional "picaeta" alcoyana. If you want to try the cous cous you will have to book in advance. It isn´t a luxurious restaurant but the menu is varied, the price cheap and the food acceptable. The service is a little slow, but it fits in with the style. Perhaps the most fun and recommended aspect of Ca Ami comes after dinner, that is, with shows that light up the evening.
You can enjoy some fun, interesting belly dancing, performed with great will and seriousness. It´s quite a show. The dancers come unexpectedly, between bites of dessert or while sipping coffee. Speaking of coffee, a medium can tell your future by studying the dregs of a cup. Anyway, if you want to spend a fun night with a difference in Alcoy, I recommend that you pass by the Ami Ca. A modest place which knows how to exploit its strengths.
