Città industriale di poco interesse turistico, questa cittadina è la porta d'accesso dalla Malesia peninsulare all'isola di Penang che si trova appena tre chilometri al largo della costa. In città non è presente molto da vedere se non l'esplanade in centro, l'enorme molo industriale e numerose piccole caffetterie dove sostare prima dell'attraversamento. Vi sono, se vi capitasse di fermarvi, molti hotel di medio livello per esplorare la zona dell'entroterra decisamente più interessante dell'area cittadina. Poco più a sud si trova il Bird park dove osservare le specie più rare degli uccelli tropicali, mentre a nord il tempio dei nove dei-imperatori merita una visita.

The industrial city of little interest to tourists, this town is the gateway to the island of Penang Peninsular Malaysia which is located just two miles off the coast. In the city there is a lot to see whether or not the esplanade in the center, the huge industrial pier and numerous small cafes where you can stop before crossing. There are, if you happen to stop by, many mid-range hotels to explore the hinterland of the town more interesting. A little further south is the Bird park where one can observe the rarest species of tropical birds, while to the north of the temple of the nine-emperors worth a visit.
