    A journey into the future

Dubai is one of seven emirates that form the United Arab Emirates. It´s a city that does not seem older than 50 years. There are skyscrapers, the tallest buildings in the world, gigantic malls, artificial beaches, eight lane highways, and luxurious hotels. Dubai seems like it is the new NY for Arab countries. If you are planning a trip to Dubai, you should know that it is almost impossible to travel without a car. Public transport is very reduced and their service is deficient. The advantage of renting a car is that oil is very cheap. There are also water taxis which are boats that take you from one side to the other of the Dubai Creek for only one dirham.

This is the transport of the working class which consists mostly of Indians and Filipinos. There´s no need to be a sociologist to clearly differentiate the two dominant classes of the city. There are some 100 nationalities in Dubai but the Arab population does not exceed 20%. There is a neighborhood known as Little India where you can enjoy the taste of India at an affordable price. The Dubai Creek divides the city in two parts. Deira is in the North and is the commercial and traditional side. Bur Dubai is in the South and here you´ll find a mix between the more historical city and more modern neighborhoods. The history of this city is represented at the Dubai Museum. You should also visit the Dubai Mall which is the largest mall in the world (and not recommended for anyone allergic to shopping malls). It has 1,200 shops, an ice rink and an aquarium. It occupies the same amont as space as 50 football fields! A friend of mine from Malaga was explaining his travels to me and even though he was astonished at what he saw, he concluded that it "still was not worth the trip." Dubai Tourism isn´t so much a cultural visit as it is a journey into the future. But as all of us travelers know, there are surprises around every corner. I hope you enjoy the sunset.

    A unique place on earth

A week in the world's most luxurious 6 star hotel. Built on an artificial island in Jumeira Beach, there are no standard rooms. All of them are luxury and presidential presidential suites. There are spas, game rooms, libraries, shops .. And of course everything is decorated with the charm of the Middle East. Talk about the luxury of the city of Dubai ... It is a unique place on earth for sure!
