Bryggen District

Los primeros edificios de Bergen fueron construidos en este rincón de lo que hoy es quizá la ciudad más hermosa de Noruega. Arrasada por muchos incendios y especialmente el de 1702 que la redujo a cenizas, debido a que sus construcciones eran levantadas e madera, la han convertido, junto con Alesund en las dos "ave fénix" de las ciudades noruegas. Afortunadamente, los planos de las casas se conservaban a buen recaudo en el Ayuntamiento, así que la reconstrucción se realizó respetando el modelo de las edificaciones originales, con lo que se consiguió que el aspecto que tiene Bryggen hoy día sea una copia fiel del que mostraba en el siglo XII. Por eso, el conjunto de estas casas han pasado a formar parte del Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la Unesco y también por su arquitectura única y diferente. Basta un paseo por los estrechos callejones y por las tortuosas y oscuras galerías para transportarnos al pasado, a la penumbra de la historia, desde la Edad Media hasta nuestros días. Vestigios de un antiguo barrio de la ciudad portuaria que fue uno de los más conocidos del medievo en Noruega debido a que en él habitaban los comerciantes dela Liga Hanseática, aquella poderosa federación de comerciantes alemanes que se establecieron en 1360 y que durante 400 años dominaron el barrio. La zona es conocida por sus habitantes simplemente como " El Muelle", y ya desde lejos llama la atención por sus 58 edificios inclinados, viejunos, con cimientos de piedra o madera que abarcan más de 13.000m² y que eran compartidos por varias stuer o compañías mercantiles. Todos tienen dos o tres plantas y combinan espacios comerciales con lo que fueron viviendas y almacenes. No faltaban las grúas para la carga y descarga de mercancías y un schøtstue, un salón comunal donde los empleados se reunían y comían. Hoy en día, desaparecida la antigua función de almacenamiento y comercio, las callejas de madera de Bryggen son un refugio para artistas y artesanos, llenas de tiendas de bisutería y boutiques. Perderse aquí es uno de los placeres de Bergen ya que el tiempo parece atraparnos según cruzamos las sombrías entradas de los callejones del antiguo barrio de Bryggen.

The first Bergen buildings were built in this corner of what is now perhaps the most beautiful city in Norway. Carried by many fires and especially the one of 1702 that reduced it to ashes, due to the fact that its constructions were raised and wood, they have turned it, together with Alesund into the two "phoenixes" of the Norwegian cities. Fortunately, the plans of the houses were kept safely in the City Council, so the reconstruction was done respecting the model of the original buildings, which was achieved that the appearance that Bryggen has today is a true copy of the one that showed in the 12th century. Therefore, all these houses have become part of the Unesco World Heritage Site and also because of their unique and different architecture. It is enough a walk through the narrow alleys and through the tortuous and dark galleries to transport us to the past, to the gloom of history, from the Middle Ages to our days. Vestiges of an old district of the port city that was one of the best known of the Middle Ages in Norway because it was home to the merchants of the Hanseatic League, that powerful federation of German merchants who settled in 1360 and who for 400 years dominated the neighborhood. The area is known by its inhabitants as simply "El Muelle", and from a distance it attracts attention for its 58 sloping, old buildings, with stone or wooden foundations that cover more than 13,000m² and that were shared by several stuer or companies mercantile. All have two or three floors and combine commercial spaces with what were homes and warehouses. There was no shortage of cranes for the loading and unloading of goods and a schøtstue, a communal room where employees met and ate. Nowadays, the old storage and trade function has disappeared, the wooden alleys of Bryggen are a haven for artists and artisans, full of jewelery shops and boutiques. Getting lost here is one of the pleasures of Bergen as time seems to trap us as we cross the shadowy entrances to the alleys of the old Bryggen quarter.

Desde Torgallmenningen, bulevar principal de Bergen, hasta el punto más alto de la península de Nordnes -situado a 43 metros sobre el nivel del mar- se extiende un Bergen que destila historia e historias por cada uno de los pintorescos rincones que descubrimos entre los empinados callejones cuyo pavimento adoquinado y casonas de madera dan fe del paso de los siglos. Conforme avanzamos hacia el punto más alto de Nordnes disfrutamos de un agradable y plácido paseo que nos aleja poco a poco del bullicio y ajetreo del Bergen más turístico y nos adentra en el mundo que antaño habitaran las desdichadas “brujas” de la ciudad cuyo trágico fin en la hoguera es recordado en la actualidad por un monumento conmemorativo. Esta caminata nos llevará a conocer alguno de los monumentos y atracciones más importantes de la ciudad entre los que podemos destacar el castillo de Frederiksberg y el Acuario. Por último comentaros que las visas del Bryggen desde este lado de la ciudad son realmente espectaculares.

From Torgallmenningen, Bergen's main boulevard, to the highest point of the peninsula Nordnes-located 43 meters above sea level, lies a history that oozes Bergen and stories for each of the picturesque spots we discovered between the steep alleys and cobblestone pavement whose wooden houses attest to the passage of centuries. Las reconstrucciones se hicieron respetando los diseños originales y con métodos tradicionales, por l que la UNESCO decidió nombrar patrimonio de la Humanidad a 62 inmuebles de este conjunto urbano.

The old district of Bryggen in Bergen marks the birth and city esplendo who lived as a member of the League Hansetica between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. Si es cierto que las primeras impresiones son las que cuentan, El pequeño barrio de Bryggen es, sin duda, la mejor tarjeta de visita posible de la ciudad de Bergen. Se trata de las antiguas casas de la colonia de comerciantes alemanes que habitaron la ciudad desde la edad media y su singular arquitectura (exclusivamente de madera) más el colorido de sus fachadas hacen que una visita a este barrio sea prácticamente ineludible. El barrio entero escapó la demolición por un pelo, dado que las casas resultaron muy dañadas a mediados del siglo XX por la explosión de un barco en el puerto de la ciudad. Sin embargo, la ciudad consiguió recuperar el barrio y la UNESCO lo declaró Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Sobre todo recomiendo perderse dentro de sus calles, que en realidad son cuatro o cinco pero que le dan a uno la sensación de entrar en un tiempo distinto al que transcurre fuera de ellas.

If it is true that first impressions are what count, Little Bryggen is undoubtedly the best possible card for the city of Bergen. Debido a la acción del tiempo en los edificios históricos de madera, a partir de 2008 se lleva a cabo un proceso de restauración para evitar el posterior deterioramiento estructural. Bryggen fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 1979.

N'hésitez pas à prendre de la hauteur vers le belvédère de Fløien pour le voir depuis les hauteurs de Bergen, d'y manger en terrasse au coucher de soleil ou de se promener dans le marché aux poissons.

Reconstruit à l’identique, il garde le charme inégalable des constructions en bois, et ses étroites et sombres ruelles font parfois passer le lieu pour un décor de western. La beauté du lieu lui vaut d'être inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.

Historic district of Bergen Bryggen is a set of wooden building located on the docks. Built in the 12th century by the Hanseatic merchants (originating Hanse northern region of present-day Germany), which economically and politically dominated the city, it was in many burned by the fires that ravaged the city again. Rebuilt exactly as it keeps the incomparable charm of wooden buildings and narrow and dark alleys sometimes pose place for western decor. The beauty of the place is worth it to be a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

El muelle de Bergen o como es mas conocido, el Bryggen, es uno de los lugates mas emblemáticos de la ciudad de Bergen, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco. Merece la pena perder un poco de tiempo por sus tiendas, donde encontrarás todo tipo de suvenires típicos, sus restaurantes y pequeñas callejuelas.

Incantevole il mercato lungo il porto che offre tutto il pescato di zona appena scaricato dagli ordinatissimi pescherecci attraccati. Dalle colline soprastanti,attraverso uno splendido parco si può apprezzare Bergen in tutta la sua bellezza.

Enchanting the market along the harbor that offers all the area catches just unloaded by the neat moorings. From the hills above, through a beautiful park you can enjoy Bergen in all its beauty.
