Sur la place des Nations et face à l’allée de drapeaux de l’ONU se dresse la Broken Chair. Cette œuvre de douze mètres de haut, faite de cinq tonne de bois, a été créée par l’artiste genevois Daniel Berset en 1997. L’œuvre représente une immense chaise à trois pied, l’un d’eux aillant été détruit. Cette chaise symbolise la longue lutte qui a permit l'interdiction d’utilisation des mines anti-personnelles.

On the Place des Nations and facing the driveway UN flags stands the Broken Chair. This twelve meters high, made of five tons of wood, was created by artist Daniel Berset Geneva in 1997. The work represents a huge chair with three foot, one of them was destroyed aillant. This chair symbolizes the long struggle which allowed the ban on use of anti-personnel mines.
