Scottish Clan house
Brodie Castle was built in the 16th century as a small castle, originally as a residence for the Brodie Clan. Historical records show that the clan had this residence in place since the 12th century and that this family was closely linked to the King of Scotland Malcolm IV. Not long after its construction, a fire almost destroyed the whole house, and so it was rebuilt in a different manner. However, its greatest transformation occurred in the 19th century when the castle was converted into a stately mansion.
