Promotes cinema and film
The British Film Institute (BFI) is an organization that promotes cinema and film. They organize festivals, screenings, theme nights, etc. in the halls of Queen's Walk, near Blackfriars Bridge. They also have an IMAX in the South Bank district with the largest movie screen in the UK! Movies projected 2D or 3D and IMAX special films with amazing sound that make you think you're in the helicopter or waterfall with the actor. The BFI is not IMAX, they screen about 1,000 films a year, from rare and little known to retrospective actors or mythical filmmakers. Established in 1933, before then it was a private company, the BFI has been a non-profit association since the end of World War II.
