Il moderno e panoramico Ponte sul Bosforo collega la parte europea di Istanbul con quella asiatica, tra il quartiere di Ortakoy e quello di Beylerbeyi. Il ponte sospeso è sorretto da giganteschi piloni in acciaio inclinati, è alto 105 metri ed ha una lunghezza di 1510 metri, diventando, al momento della sua costruzione nel 1973, il quarto ponte sospeso più lungo del mondo. La larghezza del ponte permette di contenere un’autostrada a tre corsie per ogni senso di marcia. L’accesso è a pagamento e regolato da un moderno sistema di pedaggio automatico. Le foto più suggestive del ponte si possono scattare dal quartiere Ortakoy, anche se è molto suggestivo il passaggio durante una Crociera sul Bosforo. Per alleggerire il pesante traffico è stato di recente costruito un secondo ponte, il Fatih Sultan Mehmet) ma nonostante questo, gli ingorghi sul ponte sono frequenti per buona parte della giornata. Il Ponte è visibile anche dalla terrazza del Palazzo del Topkapi.

Depuis sa construction en 1973, un autre pont traverse le Bosphore mais ce sont les deux seuls liens physiques qui traversent le détroit pour passer d’une rive à l’autre, l’autre moyen étant le bateau.

É, como aconteceu na nossa viagem pra Rússia, ficamos passando em cima do Bósforo pra lá e pra cá. Na Rússia, em São Petersburgo, era o rio Niva!!!! Boa maneira de aprender!!!!
