Entrance to the Old Historic Part of the City
The Bridge of Lions is the entryway to the historic center of Ponce. It is named after the two sculptures of lions that can be found on either side of the bridge. These two statues have special meanings: The Wise Lion means all that was Ponce in the past (one of the most important cities in Puerto Rico) and the Young Lion, represents what the city is today. In some ways it reminded me of the bridge of dragons in Ljubljana, Slovakia. It was really cool to see!
