Nature Hike
If you are a birder the marshes surrounding the Galveston Bay Complex are a wonderland of interesting species. From the Great Blue Heron to the Roseate Spoonbill a variety of beautiful waterfowl inhabit this area. The Brazoria National Wildlife Reserve is the place to see these birds in a beautiful setting. The wildlife refuge is about 45 minutes from either Houston or Galveston Island. An abundance of birds is not the only natural attraction, while walking around bodies of water named "Alligator Hole" and "Alligator Slough" you are also likely to see one of these catching some sun along the shore.
