Fostering children's imagination
The Boston Children's Museum was founded in 1913 by a group of teachers in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of the city. Today, the Museum exists to help children understand and appreciate the world in which they live and encourage them to grow up feeling secure and self-confident, with respect for others and the natural world. Focused on fostering children's imagination, curiosity and questioning, it is a private non-profit educational institution that is recognized internationally as a center for research and development.
