A must

Rome is already famous for art but one museum which really stands out is the Galleria Borghese in the gardens of the Villa Borghese. In other words, it's a must.

The Galleria is located in the Villa Borghese, named after the family to which it once belonged, and houses the Borgheses’ painting, sculpture, and antiques collection. The collection was started by Scipione Borghese (1576-1633), nephew of Pope Paul V.

A less crowded museum

When I was in Rome I must say that I loved the city but was overwhelmed by the number of tourists who were there even in rainy February. Despite this, I have very fond memories of the city and especially the quiet morning spent visiting a less full museum where there are also located the gardens of the Villa Borghese, ideal for walks and fountains. The museum has a collection of paintings, sculptures and antiques. Especially from Bernini and Caravaggio.
