The peak of wine-tourism

Bodega el Pago de las Encomiendas is one of the most prestigious family-run wineries along Extremadura’a Ribera del Guadiana Wine Route. The winery’s philosophy is “Dedication to Detail” and has led to the creation of one of the best wineries for consuming fine wines and enjoying the full wine-tourism experience. The winery and facilities are located in the “Encomiendas” in the heart of Tierra de Barros, an area of southern Extremadura that boasts exceptional environmental qualities. The family aims to help visitors understand the winery’s differentiated quality and iconic wines.

Unique processes like the night harvest, grape selection, direct gravity system (the only one in Spain) and totally-controlled creation process have made these wines a point of reference throughout Spain. All of these unique and innovative processes exist to prevent extra movements or steps which might rob even the slightest bit of the grape’s natural character. The aging process takes place in new French oak casks which impart a unique personality to the wines.
