Looking to Eat Local?
The farmers phenomenon is happening across the Midwest. People of the Midwest are attempting to capture their own economy in their own hands. We shop local to give back to our community. It is the Farmers Movement/The March Against Monsanto! It is an amazing idea in America right now. We want to be able to change our own future. Supporting local businesses is all about the American dream. You can do whatever you want if you work for it!
Blue Door Farm Stand I believe came out of this movement. However. They are upcharging the butt out of all of this. We went to buy a drink (a regular old drink) here and their sodas that they promoted were $12 each! A coke was even higher than normal. I was just hoping that this would represent the quality of the meal I was about to buy for $30. Now what I can say is that it IS all local. There is a large map painted across the dining room wall to show you where it is all coming from. They have baked goods, but it is a cafeteria style and you have to order and wait with a number. The sandwiches we had did not reflect the price unfortunately. They were fine! I just wish they were not so much money.
