The Black Church of the Dominicans

What was originally a Dominican monastery and church is now a public space known in Wismar. It is known by that name, for 2 reasons, not knowing for sure what is real. It is said that before the restoration, It had a blackened brick lot, and the place looked like a dark mass. Another version speaks of the black habit of the Dominicans and even its name "Domini Canes" The Dogs of the Lord. Anyway, at first, it was a place of worship, and after the Reformation, the monastery became a orphanage, though the church remained sacred. The old hospital and orphanage is now a home for old people, while the former residential school now has the integrated comprehensive school "Johann Wolfgang von Goethe." THE church choir is still used as an auditorium and gym.

In the oldest buildings of the convent, lies a contemporary art studio and a music room with a stage. The 2nd addition was a dining room, work areas for social workers and workshop rooms for education. It is very interesting to see how many uses you can have the buildings that have lost religious symbolism, and I think that is something that my country could take into account for ourselves.
