Railway station
The Bitola railway station is on the edge of the city, out to the remains of Heraclea. 10 minutes from the ruins, and about 15 minutes walk from the heart of town. It seems like you're in the middle of nowhere, and taxi drivers are telling you to take advantage of it and never go far without help. The center is on your right, then straight ahead. The train system is not the best, but there is a connection to Skopje, the capital, 3 times a day. Veles also can stop where you change trains to go to Greece. Bitola is close to the border with Greece but there is no direct connection. The station is nothing special, but they speak English and helped us, taking time to explain the choies and travel times, we put away the suitcase while we were visiting the city, and they accepted the payment in euros.
