Birch Aquarium at Scripps

The Birch Aquarium is located at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography and is open to the public daily. Entrance to the aquarium costs $17 (with discounts for seniors, children and students) and includes access to all facilities, including more than 60 aquatic habitats that house over 3,000 different fish. We saw things like seahorses, small sharks, and fascinating jellyfish! There is also an outdoor "touch" exhibit where you can physically touch sea stars, urchins, and sea cucumbers with staff supervision. The entire aquarium is perched up on a hill overlooking the beautiful beaches of La Jolla.

Best place to take children ve can get up close and personal with the wildlife. Not too crowded, easy in and out.
