Biljana Fountain

This tour, which leaves Biljana Fountain in the mountains of Petrino, is indicated with green paint along the trail which is 11.5 km long. It takes about 8 hours to walk and has a height of 600 meters. At the start, the terrain is difficult and you climb quite steeply to the village of Ramne, with a beautiful fountain, perfect for drinking fresh water from a nearby spring. Also in the village is the church of St Athanasius, which is lovely. The path then crosses the foothills of the mountains, through forests of cedar and pine trees which give some welcome shade. When you get to Velestovo, at 1100 meters high, you will see that many of the older homes have been renovated and the town is full of life.
