Wine and records!
Bendito Vinos y Vinilos is an awesome wine store and bar on the ground floor of the Mercado de San Fernando, a traditional market in Madrid’s Lavapies neighborhood which was once one the verge of abandonment but which has found new life with young vendors focusing on artisan products, low prices, and down-to-earth vibe. That sums up Bendito Vinos y Vinilos perfectly: the project of a young entrepreneur who wanted to take the snobbiness out of wine appreciation, and create an accessible space to enjoy artisanal Spanish wines, cheeses, and charcuterie at reasonable prices.
They specialize in natural and boutique wines from small Spanish producers, many of which are in the 5-10 euro range so you can have an interesting and new experience without messing up your month’s budget. So, now the “vinos” part of the title is clear, so what about the “vinilos”? In Spanish, “vinilos” means vinyl records and at Bendito, they’re usually spinning something. In fact, the last time I went they were having a party with local DJ's spinning soul classics and the owners pouring glass after glass or tasty reds and whites for little over a euro per glass.
