Typical appealing village
Benamargosa is one of the towns of Axarquia that retains Arab traditions and the appeal of the typical villages of Andalucia. Benamargosa is situated on the shore of a river from which it takes its name. Its climate is very mild, shown by the orchards of citrus and tropical fruit trees which we see in terraces along the valley. The village is divided into two areas, the lower part where new houses have been built and the Church, and from the top, you can see the layout of its streets. The local cuisine uses fruits of their gardens, such as the "Zoque" and avocado smoothies, ajoblanco in spring-summer, and in winter, tomato soup.
