Beautiful Riverside Village of Cramond

Cramond is 8 km northwest of Edinburgh, on the eastern side to the entrance of the Firth of Forth. With boats moored at the harbor, majestic swans and whitewashed houses along the quay, it's the perfect place to get away from the hustle of the city and relax with a simple walk along the river or along its charming seaport. It's undoubtedly one of the most picturesque corners of Edinburgh. The Romans built a fort here in the second century hence the name of the town comes from Caer Amond "Strong River Almond" and recent archaeological excavations have revealed the existence of a Mesolithic settlement dating from 8,500 BC, which would make Cramond the oldest Scottish town.
