Bayahibe is a luxurious yet traditional beach in the south of the Dominican Republic near the town of La Romana. There are lots of local fisherman who organize day-trips to the nearby islands of Saona and Catalina. The white sand beach is surrounded by coconut trees and there are lots of little stalls selling food, clothes, and the like.
Bayahibe with its docks and crystal-clear emerald sea is amazing. I'd recommend staying at the Catalonia or Iberostar Coral hotels and visiting Saona and the market to pick yourself up some good cigars. Make sure to enjoy grilled lobster and coconut milk at the beach bar to the sound of merengue!
Bayahibe and its surrounding areas make you feel like you are in paradise. I have visited most of the beaches in the Caribbean and I think the ones in the Dominican Republic are the most beautiful, I spent my honeymoon in this country and had an incredible time. We were treated like royalty, me and my wife, I recommend this country as the best honeymoon destination.
