The Basaltic Prisms are geometric basalt columns that decorate the walls of the impressive canyon of Santa Maria Regla. You can see the walls are bathed by the four waterfalls that feed the San Antonio Regla dam.

This formation is the result of slow cooling lava millions of years ago. Basalt columns also formed vertically and horizontally. These basalt columns decorate the canyon walls Alcholoya by falling four cascades of water from San Antonio Dam Rule (former Hacienda San Miguel Regla).
