The Baranov Museum is situated in the center of the city of Kodiak in a house that was built in 1808 by Russian settlers, and is considered to be the oldest wooden house constructed in Alaska .. Today the museum shares the history of Kodiak, not only the Russian part but also the more important side that of Aleut people(Sugpaq). The museum also features temporary exhibitions of art and antiques and permanent displays. Admission costs only $ 3.
