I love the cities that keep at least some of the original walls that surround the city from the Middle Ages. I found a fantastic choice in the south of England that retains approximately 60% of the wall. I found it in Southampton, where I lived for 10 months. And the most important point of this wall is definitely the Bargate, which was the front door to enter the city, and now is the most central point of the city. The Bargate has a small museum on the first floor that goes unnoticed by most people for being very poorly advertised and for being such small building that it appears to have nothing.
