The wealth and the love of a village
The traditional fishing port of Banff that exists today dates from early Victorian era (mid-nineteenth century), but historical records show that there was always a harbor there. Given that this population had a castle the port must have transported heavy goods. The importance of this port goes beyond this, since the economy of the Middle Ages was mixed, agriculture and fishing, but mainly the latter. This is clear from the very existence of this port as its construction was quite a feat due to the very rocky coast. The port merges with a small beach that exists there. Today has less activity than before, the traditional fishing port merges with a modern marina, but it remains one of the most beautiful and traditional places in the city.
