Calm water and a natural inlet
Banff Bay and its characteristics were important elements in the creation of this village, and it had calm water and a natural inlet from the ocean to land, which once provided a natural protection against attacks and assaults that in times of the past were produced by the Viking hordes. The geographical feature is the regularity of its background which causes there to be more calm waters, even with the rocky background. It is difficult to access to the settlement ground. Today the bay is a beautiful walk, which leads to some lovely beaches, which are flanked by the next bay, and practically observed large vessels using the bay to anchor and protect sea state out of it ..
