A noble enclave in Aberdeen
Banff is a lovely coastal village of Aberdeen County, between the cities of Elgin and Aberdeen. It has a population of about 4,000 and is famous for its cemetery, its bay. This village was founded as a location to defend against attacks suffered by the Viking invasions in the 11th century. This led to the construction of a fort that led to the village, which was declared in growth royal burgh in the late fourteenth century by order of King Robert II of Scotland.
