Walking in Balestrand

Balestrand is a very small town on the banks of Sognefjord, which is a good base for exploring the environment. It's not as crowded as other places such as Sogndal, which gives it a quieter air, altered only by tourists. There are two ways to get there, by ferry from Bergen, or by car. We went by car and I think this is the best way to learn Norwegian. We drove nearly 200km through high mountain roads separating Vangsnes Bergen, where you catch the ferry to Dragsvki, and just 2km from Balestrand. The drive took about 4 hours and can also take the E39. The experience of being there was worth it.

The village has a church and little to do, but you have the feeling of being in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Between the hotel and the ferry pier, there is a walk along the fjord - it is highly recommended. The only thing that may disturb the peace is coming across a couple of deer. On the same walk, there is a restaurant that makes a very interesting pasta dishes. I do not remember its name, but it's a nice place
