If you're someone who thinks that restaurants targeting tourists are inevitably bad, then El Balcon de la Virgen is sure to change your mind. Let me explain how to get there first: park in the parking lot at the Alameda (not too expensive, and will save you a bit of trouble in high season). Then head up to the old town - a great walk through some really charming streets, past the gleaming white houses.
When you reach Calle Virgen de los Dolores, if you're not used to this kind of environment, you're sure to be left open-mouthed at the beauty ahead of you. As you get closer, you'll see a sign announcing that you've arrived at a restaurant. Of course, you think, this must be a bit of a tourist trap - its decor could hardly be anything else, right? But the great staff and excellent menu will soon convince you otherwise. Pablo, who served us, was friendly and welcoming, with a warm Argentinian accent.
