Balatonudvari y Tokaj
In the northern shore of Lake Balaton (approx.100 kms. Budapest) there are a series of villages that are there for a variety of reasons. A Tihany unites itself curiously with Balatonudvari, and here the romantic cemetery consists of more than sixty carved limestone tablets with a heart shape. Nobody knows why the hearts are there, since no other cemetery in the country is like this. It is easy to get to by road(which skirts around the lake) and rail, housing is very affordable if you choose any of the cottages. You can directly negotiate price with the ownder. Another nearby destination is the wine region of Tokaj foothills, northeast of the country, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
