A beautiful area
Shell Bay is one of the most inaccessible beaches on the east coast of Scotland. But while it's difficult to get here, it's not impossible, and the struggle gives it a certain charm! The bay itself is a beautiful natural area, open to the elements, with a creek, beach and dunes. There's a caravan park and a campsite nearby. A children's playground is designed to look like a pirate ship, and there's a small shop / cafe / restaurant. Useful if you go with your kids, but personally I prefer a long walk along the bay, in the wind, overlooking the always restless sea.
