Ayuntamiento de Chambéry

Una ciudad coqueta ha de tener edificios coquetos. Y eso es lo que le pasa al Ayuntamiento de Chambéry, quien no desentona para nada con la arquitectura de los edificios y calles del resto de la ciudad. Situado en el lugar donde antiguamente se encontraba el viejo convento de Antonino, su construcción data del año 1860, y el edificio está considerado como uno de los símbolos de la anexión de la ciudad de Chambéry al territorio francés. La plaza en la que se encuentra el Ayuntamiento, tuvo que ser reconstruída después del bombardeo que sufrió la ciudad con motivo de la Guerra Mundial y que acabó destruyendo una quinta parte de la ciudad. En cuanto a la estética del edificio, se trata de un edificio de bonita construcción que llama la atención por los colores y estilo de su fachada, ya que una parte de la misma está formada a basa de grandes ladrillos de piedra grisácea, mientras la parte de arriba es totalmente plana y está pintada en un color de tono salmón. En ella, son tres las banderas que ondean. Por un lado encontramos la bandera del escudo de la ciudad de Chambéry (roja con franjas blancas), por otro, vemos la bandera de Francia y finalmente la de la Comunidad Europea. El alcalde actual de Chambéry es Michel Dantin.
