The best option for accommodation on Khone Island, in what is called 4000 islands in southern Laos. It is a bucolic town, with water buffalo "posing" for photos, even a waterfall. In the river you can sometimes see dolphins, and to get there you take a bus from Pakse, 4 hours to Nakasang, and then take a boat to the island Don khone.
