Auberge la Goulade
Morocco is characterized, among other things, as being a country with some prohibitions, like the prohibition of alcohol. To have a beer in Morocco sometimes becomes a very difficult task and when found it usually is quite expensive. After our arrival in Ait Ben Haddou we decided to relax and have a beer, but where? Well, low and behold, we found it at the Auberge La Goulade. You can stay at the Auberge for 8-10 € and also enjoy affordable but very peculiar French food. The restaurant is decorated in bright colors, not unfamiliar in Morocco. It is the perfect place to have a beer after a long day of sightseeing.
Prices are steep however as a beer can cost you more than 2 €. This restaurant is easy to find as it is situated on the main road to Ait Ben Haddou. So now you know, if you are in the vicinity and you feel like having something "forbidden" the place to go is the Auberge La Goulade, at the foot of the Moroccan desert.
