Asuncion

Da Paraguay das zweitärmste Land des südamerikanischen Kontinents ist, kann man auch in der Hauptstadt Asuncion keinen Luxus erwarten. Zwar gibt es auch einige architektonische Besonderheiten (meist alte Kolonialbauten), doch ist der Kern der Stadt äußerst klein und vor allem von Armut geprägt. Auf dem Plaza de Armas sahen wir zahlreiche obdachlose Menschen, die unter einer Art Zelt aus Plastiktüten schliefen. Der Gegensatz zwischen Arm und Reich ist hier immens. Verweilen kann man in der Nähe des Panteón de los Héroes: Hier gibt es Souvenirs, Sitzbänke im Schatten der Bäume und in den anschließenden Seitenstraßen einige nette Geschäfte. Man beobachtet Einheimische, wie sie auffallend viel Mate-Tee trinken und selbstgemachte Artikel wie Schmuck, Leinenhemden und Mate-Zubehör verkaufen. Die enorme Hitze (mittags über 45°C) und hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit macht die Stadt nicht viel erträglicher, denn durch die Feuchte werden gefährliche Malaria- und Denguefieber-Mücken angelockt. Der angenehmste und sicherste Ort war (leider) das Hotel.

Asunción es una ciudad de gente súper amable, lo negativo creo que es una ciudad sucia y descuidada a pesar de ser la capital. Hay lugares que se diferencian como las Carmelitas, el barrio de mayor poder en dinero y sus lugares son preciosos y no se diga sus casas.

Mira Mortyzia, yo soy un ciudadano Asunceno y quisiera decirte que es una pena que no hayas disfrutado en su totalidad de tu visita a la "Madre de Ciudades" puesto que no sólo Asunción sino que varias otras ciudades tienen infinidad de atractivos que visitar sòlo se necesita de una persona que las conozca y te pueda guiar, y con respecto al tràfico que hay en Capital es a causa de que el 80% de las Instituciones Estatales se encuentran en Asunción y de día entran a la Capital más de 1 800 000 personas para llegar a sus puestos de trabajo y quehaceres diarios. Te invito a que te informes más sobre las Actividades sin precedentes que se darán en el mes de mayo 2011 por motivos de la Celebración del Bicentenario de la Independencia del Paraguay...
