Asolo

Il borgo di Asolo è uno dei luoghi più suggestivi d'italia, con le sue stradine porticate, le ville con i giardini nascosti e la suggestiva Rocca che domina il borgo. Secoli di storia hanno lasciato tracce importanti fin dall'epoca romana, mentre la conformazione urbanistica attuale deriva dal Medioevo e dalla dominazione della Serenissima. Lo splendore di Asolo e della Rocca hanno dato ispirazione all'arte in tutte le sue forme: Pietro Bembo scrisse "Gli Asolani" e Robert Browning "Asolando" mentre Jacopo Bassano, Lorenzo Lotto, Giorgione, Canova, Marius Pictor e Filippo de Pisis dipinsero i suoi scorci e ne decorarono chiese e residenze. L'Attrice Eleonora Duse scelse Asolo come sua dimora, come pure la scrittrice e fotografa Freya Stark e il pittore Marius Pictor. Da vedere: La Rocca (XII° secolo), il Castello della Regina Cornaro (con annesso Teatro Duse), Cattedrale e Museo Civico, le varie residenze (Casa di Eleonora Duse, Casa di Marius Pictor, Casa Malipiero, Casa Longobarda, Case Anseatiche e Villa Freya), Chiesa e cimitero di Sant'Anna (dove riposano Duse e Stark) e l'acquedotto romano La Bot. Asolo è soprattutto, però, un borgo da scoprire camminando e perdendosi tra le sue viuzze, i portici, le salite e i giardini nascosti, scoprendo i luoghi storici ma anche i locali che offrono specialità gastronomiche locali, le gallerie d'arte e i negozi d'antiquariato. Molto spesso il borgo ospita eventi culturali di alto livello come concerti, mostre, opere teatrali, premi e convegni.
