Ashby-de-la-Zouch (pueblo)
The name of this place has a French origin, and signifies the great story behind the town. The origin of the village comes from the Battle of Hastings (1066 aD) which led to the Normans entering the UK as regents. The Normans established the baronies as a control system and this was precisely what led to this settlement, portions of land given to the Zouche noble family. The settlement originally featured a market and parish, but in order to thrive, in the twelfth century the famous castle was founded by order of the first Baron Hastings. Today it is the biggest attraction in this English town.
