L´ascepleion, le sanctuaire du dieu ...

L´ascepleion, le sanctuaire du dieu Asclepios et de sa fille Hygieia (la Santé personnifiée), se trouve dans l´ancienne agora, près du peripatos et de l´ancienne route qui faisait le tour de l´Acropole. C´est un sanctuaire qui a été formé par un citoyen d´Athènes nommé Telemachos en moins 420. Dans le cimetière, on retrouve la stèle de Telematos également. L´asclepleion est un petit temple, avec un autel et deux halls, la Stoa Dorique, qui servait de hall d´incubation pour les visiteurs, qui restaient là durant une nuit, et se trouvaient miraculeusement soignés de leurs maladies le lendemain matin, grâce aux Dieux qui apparaissaient dans leurs rêves, et la Stoa Ionique servaient de chambre d´accueil pour les prêtres, les visiteurs du temple et les accompagnants qui n´étaient pas malades. A l´est de la stoa on trouve une source sacrée, une petite cave avec une source qui part du rocher sacré de l´Acropole, car l´eau a toujours été un élément important du culte d´Asclepios.
The ascepleion, the sanctuary of the god Asclepius and his daughter Hygieia (Health personified), is located in the ancient agora, near the peripatos and the old road that went around the Acropolis. It is a sanctuary that was formed by an Athenian citizen named Telemachos in less than 420. In the cemetery, there is the stele Telematos also. The asclepleion is a small temple with an altar and two halls, the Doric Stoa, which served incubation hall for visitors, who stayed there overnight, and were miraculously cured of their diseases in the morning, thanks the gods who appeared in their dreams, and the Ionic Stoa served as home room for priests, temple visitors and carers who were not sick. To the east of the Stoa there is a sacred spring, a small cellar with a source from the sacred rock of the Acropolis, as the water has always been an important part of the cult of Asclepius.

El Ascepleion, el sanctuario del dios...

El Ascepleion, el sanctuario del dios Asclepios y de su hija Hygieia (la Salud personificada) se encuentra en la antigua agora, cerca del peripatos y de la antigua carretera que daba la vuelta al Acrópolis. Es un santuario que fue formado por un ciudadano de Atenas llamado Telemachos, en menos 420 antes de JC. En el cementerio, se encuentra la estela de Telemachos también. El Asclepieion es un pequeño templo, con un altar y dos salas, la stoa dórica, que servía de sala de incubación para los visitantes, que se quedaban ahí durante una noche, y milagrosamente al día siguiente se encontraban curados y se podían ir para su casa, gracias al dios que les aparecía en sus sueños. La otra sala era la stoa iónica, que servía de cuarto para recibir a los religiosos, los visitantes del templo que no estaban enfermos pero venían a acompañar.

The Asclepieion is a small temple with an altar and two rooms, the Doric stoa, which served as a hatchery for visitors, who stayed there for one night, and miraculously the next day were cured and could go for home, thanks to god who appeared in his dreams. Temple d'Asclépios

Situé sur le flanc sud de l’Acropole, non loin du théâtre de Dionysos, le temple d’Asclépios est également un lieu important et symbolique de l’Acropole athénienne. Ce temple, dont les vestiges sont encore aujourd’hui un peu éparpillés, était dédié au dieu de la médecine, fils d’Apollon, souvent représenté sous la forme d’un serpent (emblème du Caducée notamment). Quelques colonnes ont été replacées dans leur disposition originelle, permettant de se rendre compte des dimensions du lieu.
Situated on the southern slopes of the Acropolis, near the theater of Dionysus, the dAsclpios temple is also an important and symbolic place athnienne Acropolis. This temple, whose remains are still today some parpills, ddi was the god of medicine, son of Apollo, reprsent often in the form of a serpent (emblem of Caduce particular). Some columns have been replaces in their original layout, to realize the dimensions of the place.
