Place des Arts

Place des Arts is named so because it is in the center of Montreal's growing arts district. The square is a simple grid surrounded by various buildings related to the arts like the Maison symphonique, some television and recording studios, the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, and the Palais des Congres de Montreal. Every summer, the place is totally packed with tens of thousands of spectators attending Montreal's famous Francofolies and Jazz Festivals. It's a really lovely place to walk around and confirms Montreal's status as the art capital of Canada.
