Arrival to Ngoy Nua Village

Reaching this town is simple and original, you just have to grab a barge, usual in this country, and go up the Mekong. Though it's calm you can still get a scare as they do not give you a life jacket. This may seem a trifle afterwards, but with a river, whatever its flow, you never know what may surprise you, a swirl of water, a floating log or a simple stone that you haven't seen can leave you forever in the river's depths. Anyway, let's just say that after nearly two hours on the boat from Muang Noy, we arrived safe and sound after having enjoyed incredible views, only imaginable when one is in the middle of the jungle navigating an imposing river.
