10 reviews of Arnedillo Hot Springs

Natural Thermal Baths

The village of Arnedillo in La Rioja has become famous above all for the wonderful thermal waters it owns, flowing through various springs. These waters have been used and enjoyed since the Roman period.

Nowadays, we can enjoy the thermal waters of Arnedillo in two ways. First, there are the extraordinary thermal baths just outside the village, on one of the banks of Cidacos River. These thermal baths have a great reputation and, every year, hundreds of people come to enjoy the numerous thermal programs in offers.

But there is another option to enjoy them, a much more economical one, since it is free of charge. There are natural thermal baths in the Cidacos River, just in front of the spa, outside the village. They have been bettered thanks to the cleaning and caring work that started a few years ago. Today, everyone who wants it can enjoy those three little open air "swimming-pools" of thermal waters at different degrees of temperature.

The coldest is at 20ºC, while the hottest can go up to 35ºC. Although they are free, the thermal baths are clean and well-cared for. Moreover, you can go at any time of the day. I even recommend going at night and when it is cold: it is a real privilege to contemplate the stars and the moon in the warm water while it is incredibly cold outside.

These waters always have a special smell. It smells like minerals, but it is normal, this is why they say it is healthy.

A Must

Next to the spa there are some pools owned by the village of Arnedillo and open to the public. If you go to the area while discovering La Rioja, do no miss out on it! The best is to go at night. The water is at about 36ºC. A must!
